What it's really guarding
Being ordinary, being wrong, the unhealed shadow underneath the insight, the vulnerability of meeting someone at eye level. Underneath it all, what it protects is real: safety, respect, meaning, being valued.
How it shows up
What it is
Living above the room. Analysis used to stay over others, evolved-ness used to stay beyond them. Subtle condescension dressed as insight or compassion. Feeling dismissed as lesser than thinking; ordinary messiness treated as something other people do.

Why it came, and what it costs
Why it came
When feeling and the body were unsafe terrain, height became a stronghold. Being the smartest or the most conscious one in the room meant never being small, wrong, or touchable. Altitude was armor.
What it costs you now
